“I look wonderful and no pain! If I would have known eyelid surgery was this easy, I would have done it long ago.”

– J. Domingo, Irvine

“I didn’t even bruise; I went to work the next day.”

– M. Kaye, La Jolla

Your eyes are too important to trust to just an ordinary plastic surgeon.
They require a doctor who is not only a trained plastic surgeon,
but a qualified expert of the eyes as well.

Dr. Howard Conn, Orange County’s
preeminent ocular plastic surgeon
specializes in the use of the
laser for cosmetic eyelid surgery
(blepharoplasty). He is well known
for the remarkably natural and wellrested look that he achieves with the use of state of the art lasers. The Fraxel re:pair laser incorporates a hand piece that Dr. Conn designed for laser blepharoplasty.

Appearance aside, when performing any type of blepharoplasty it is crucial to
consider what is best for the actual function of the eye. For this reason, Dr. Conn
always performs an eye exam before a treatment plan is developed. Maintaining
the health and function of the eye is always Dr. Conn’s first concern
.

“In today’s busy society, time is one of our most precious commodities.”

Conventional scalpel cosmetic surgery was fine when that was all that medicine had to
offer. However, with today’s laser technology, it has become outdated. This is because
traditional cosmetic surgery requires the use of a scalpel to cut the skin tissue and a
cautery to control the subsequent bleeding. This method produces tissue damage that
causes swelling, discomfort, and black and blue bruising which can last for several weeks.

In contrast, laser cosmetic surgery uses a tiny laser beam of energy to cut the tissue and seal the
blood vessels all at the same time. The result is significantly less postoperative swelling and minimal,
if any bruising. Our patients heal quickly and are amazed at how pain-free and comfortable they
feel. Depending on the procedure, our patients can usually apply make-up within 24 hours and
go about their business. Most patients report that they are usually able to resume their normal
activities the next day.

BEFORE AND 24 HOURS LATER

Dr. Conn’s advanced laser
techniques reduce recovery time
for cosmetic eyelid surgery from
weeks to hours. Within twenty-four
hours people are able to function,
apply makeup and return to work. Bruising is usual minimal or
nonexistent. People are amazed
at how pain-free and comfortable
they feel.

REPAIR OF HEREDITARY DROOPY LEFT UPPER LID

Laser Cosmetic surgery can also be used to correct congenital defects. After only 24 hours, notice the absence of bruising and swelling.

“So many people are concerned about ending up with that wide-eyed, scary look which occurs when poorly-done traditional cosmetic eyelid surgery has tightly pulled the skin back in the attempt to smooth it. Laser surgery technology is vastly different; it doesn’t pull the skin and cause an unnatural or distorted appearance.”

The skin around the eyes is definitely very delicate and often the first place
where a person’s age begins to show.

In a matter of moments and often
without a skin incision, fat and
puffiness are removed from the lower lids leaving a smooth, rested, youthful appearance.

At the same time, if necessary, fat
and excessive skin can be removed from the upper lids.

Fine lines, crows feet and wrinkles
can be “vaporized” away at the
same time.

The goal of all of Dr. Conn’s laser
cosmetic eyelid surgery is to
keep the patient looking like
themselves, only well rested,
younger, and natural.

Is the surgery performed in the office or a hospital operating room?

We perform the procedures in our office operating room with local anesthesia and a mild oral sedative. The patients are awake and can see the results immediately. We do ask you to have a driver take you home. You are able to drive yourself to the office the following day for your postoperative exam.

How long does the procedure last?

In most cases laser cosmetic blepharoplasty will generally last for 12 to 15 years

Will it hurt?

We want our patients to have a good experience and excellent results. Dr. Conn will
always make sure that you are comfortable.

Should I wait until I lose weight or until my eye bags are really large?

The time for you to consider eyelid surgery is when you look in the mirror and you don’t like what you see. Losing additional weight or waiting until the bags worsen with age is not relevant to this procedure and does not make any difference. It is important for you to have a consultation with Dr. Conn and let him discuss the options with you. Dr. Conn is well-known for telling people truthfully what is best for them and this includes letting them know if they are not good candidates for available procedures.

Does Dr. Conn perform his own surgery or does another doctor do it?

Dr. Conn operates four days a week; you will be entirely in his hands from start to finish. He will call you the evening of your surgery to check in with you and see you the next morning. Our entire staff is here to serve you.

With Dr. Howard Conn, you are assured you will be directed to the correct treatment for your specific needs. Our office is happy to schedule a complimentary consultation. Contact us today for a new, improved you
