Laser Skin Science That Delivers Dramatic Results The effects of time, sun, pollution, stress and fatigue add up to keeping your skin from looking as young as you feel. The solution is here. With revolutionary Fraxel re:storeTM laser technology, Dr. Conn will help you to restore your skin to its natural, original, radiant glow. As a pioneer in the field of lasers and a scientific advisor for the development of Fraxel laser technology, Dr. Conn teaches doctors from around the world on the use of this revolutionary technology. Unlike any other laser treatments, using the Fraxel re:storeTM laser, Dr. Conn is able to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas using pinpoint laser beams that penetrate beneath the skin's surface to eliminate old damaged skin and stimulate the body's own natural healing process which replaces the old skin with fresh, glowing, healthy, collagen-rich skin.

Dr. Conn's personal journey in search of the "perfect" laser: |

Until now the CO2 laser has been the gold standard for reversing the ravages of age and sun on facial skin. Finally, after 10 years I wish to tell you about an entirely new laser system, called Fraxel re:storeTM that reduces wrinkles and brown spots and restores brightness and luster, all without downtime. Since I was Chief of Ocular Plastic Surgery at Beckman Laser Institute, I have been fortunate to be on the forefront of cosmetic laser research. In addition to serving as a consultant to laser companies, I have traveled around the globe to personally investigate the latest technology in skin rejuvenation. I was never satisfied with the so-called no downtime procedures because I felt they produced no significant lasting results. All that changed in 2003 when I was introduced to a group of leading scientists at Reliant Technologies, Inc. in Palo Alto, including Dr. Len DeBenedictis, who has worked in the laser development field for more than |
30 years. I was asked to use my expertise as a laser cosmetic surgeon and as a research scientist to evaluate the efficacy of their laser. I was impressed. Working with Dr. Rox Anderson at Wellman Laboratories at Harvard, DeBenedictis and company scientists developed a method for regenerating skin using fractional patterns, or microscopic spots spread out like the tiny pixels in a photograph.

The end product is a laser and supporting software that is safe on all skin colors and treats brown spots, lines, and wrinkles on the face, neck, chest and hands but does not require general anesthesia. The treatment creates enough inflammation to stimulate collagen producing and thereby produces long lasting significant reversal of the aging process. I was asked to sign on as a scientific advisor and I did. One year later, after many trials and refinement my wife and I underwent spot treatments with the laser so that I could see for myself the comfort level, recovery time and efficiency. The results that I had seen on their patient sampling were confirmed by my own experience. I have always said that I would let you know when I found a laser that could not only deliver what it promised, but to do so in a comfortable manner for the patient and allow the patient to renew all of their activities the next day. I look forward to seeing you soon. Howard Conn, M.D. |
